I'm Drew Anthony Lighthouse  

I've been building and designing things my whole life. I have an innate talent in construction and I love working with my hands and my mind, designing & building things and completing restoration projects. This work is such a joy for me!

 

Since 2015 I have worked as a general contractor completing a wide variety of projects which as given me an extensive experience. From kitchen to bathroom remodeling to structural dry rot restoration, craftsmen front porch steps to custom cabinetry, I've seen and done a lot. My gallery will give you a good idea of the kind of projects I've completed.

Working with me is supporting a local queer and BDSM business owner. I didn't get any broadway, Hollywood or fashion genes. I got all the builder and engineer genes! I don't get Rue Paul's drag race (I know, high heresy!) For fun I study rocket science as a hobby.

I have a degree in drafting and CAD and I have worked in manufacturing, responsible for completing engineering drawings, design and prototyping, industrial graphic design, project management, quality control and more.

​

I have created custom fitted, hand crafted and professionally built Greenland skin-on-frame kayaks and led kayak building classes for customers around the world. Check out my gallery for pics of by amazing kayaks.

 

I have done facility maintenance and special projects at a large Zen monastery. 

 

My many years of Buddhist monastic training, including 3 1/2 years in cloistered meditation retreats greatly influence how I approach my work and my life. Mindfulness, honesty & truthfulness, integrity, fairness and generosity of spirit are but a few of the things I've trained deeply in and during this stage of my life.

In many ways this work is part of my spiritual path. This work is a great way to cultivate mindfulness and is a decent and honest way to support myself. Plus I enjoy this work quite a lot!
