My Principles of Customer Service:

  1. Listen: Nothing improves a customer interaction more than if the person feels I have listened and understood.

  2. Be a person: Robotic, rehearsed, or pat responses will just make the customer feel that I didn’t listen or understand.

  3. Value their time: I strive to offer all the information required and never waste a customer’s time.

  4. Respect: Respect my clients and their home. Respect and treat fairly and kindly my employees, vendors and other professionals I work with.

  5. Be honest: I am as honest and sincere as they come. 

  6. Be knowledgeable: I strive to know my materials, processes, people, and project. If there is something I don't know, I will either study it until I master it, or I'll bring in other professionals who do.

  7. Rely on my team: Great customer service is a team sport. If someone else knows more about an aspect, I will rely on that person to serve the customer’s needs.

  8. Care: Customers want to know that their concerns matter to me, that meeting or exceeding their standards is my own personal desire as well, and that I am providing customer service because their goals are my goals.

  9. Responsibility: I take responsibility for myself, my project choices and outcomes. If I make a mistake, I will honestly disclose it and make it right. Period.

  10. Empathy: Strive to view things through the customers point of view and how things will positively or negatively impact their experience of me, the project and final result.

  11. Follow through with promises: Do what I say, and say what I do.

  12. Have fun and positivity!: Enjoying my work and keeping in good spirits makes it easy to do it well and a pleasure to have me in your home working.

  13. Self care and sleep: This work is very physically and mentally demanding, with very real consequences for mistakes. Eat well, rest well, and take care of myself and my employees is critical to good outcomes and adoring clients.
